RESOURCES FOR COUNSELORS

Student academic stress is one of the leading drivers of counselor caseloads. BalanceBoard gives students a tool to manage their own workload and wellness — and gives your team aggregate visibility into how students are doing, earlier than they'd typically hear about it.

The counselor dashboard

School counselors with access can view aggregate, anonymized wellness trends across student groups. This is not individual monitoring — it's population-level awareness. You can see when average stress is elevated across a grade or cohort, which gives you a signal to check in proactively rather than waiting for students to come to you in crisis.

Aggregate trends only

No individual student data visible without proper authorization and consent.

Early warning signal

See elevated stress patterns 1-2 weeks earlier than typical individual reports.

FERPA compliant

Handled in accordance with FERPA requirements for student data.

No school-wide setup required

Students can start immediately. Counselor access is configured separately.

Frequently asked questions

How does BalanceBoard help school counselors?

BalanceBoard's counselor dashboard shows aggregate, anonymized wellness trends across student groups — average stress, patterns over time, periods of elevated concern. It gives counselors a population-level signal for when additional support may be needed, without requiring students to individually report to counselors.

Is student data private from counselors?

Yes. Counselors only see aggregated, anonymized trends — not individual student records. Individual student data is never shared with counselors without proper authorization and student consent.

How do students access BalanceBoard?

Students sign up individually with their school Google account and start using it immediately — no school-wide setup required. Counselor access is set up separately through the school account.

Does BalanceBoard replace counseling?

No. BalanceBoard is a planning and awareness tool — it helps students and counselors notice patterns early. It is not a substitute for actual counseling, therapy, or mental health treatment.
